Immersion assembly

Kia Ora everyone ! For term 4’s immersion assembly our principle Mr. Burt introduced our theme for the term which is “May the force be with you” , and in maori the saying is “Kia kaha te kaha Kia a koe”. During the assembly we had all the teams from Pt England School created a movie based off our theme for this term . My favourite one was team 5’s movie because some of the scenes in our movie was really funny and made lots of kids laugh  .  The main topics that we will be focusing on the most is statistics, sound and I think we will be learning some more as well . The rest of the school is mainly learning about how to use forces but team 5 is learning about something different.

Fiction narrative

Hi for my create task in ” The Car Respond To Text” , I had to create a narrative writing story that includes at least 10 of the words that was listed in one of the slides. These are the 10 words that I chose to put into my paragraph .

A princess and a unicorn

Once upon a time there was a helpless unicorn . The unicorn was desperate , and would constantly be badgering for food every single day . One day as the unicorn was emerging from the shadows of the dark alleyway , a princess was being carried down the long road filled with many popular celebrities who are recognised all over the world . She noticed its once-bright eyes now dark with hopelessness watching from a distance . She was very impressed with the colour of its mane , and excitedly ran towards the unicorn asking to touch the soft , silky , and luxurious mane . As she approached the unicorn she kind fully asked why the unicorn was badgering for food , then all of a sudden the unicorn disappeared out thin air. The princess groaned out of disappointment and returned back towards the carriage.

My inquiry movie


Kia ora . For Term 3’s inquiry task we are learning how to achieve a new skill . Everyday we would reflect on our chosen skill and write down our research in one of our work task books that would help us learn off of our reflections and mistakes . We had about 1-8 weeks too do practise ourselves and record and then put all of our videos and reflections of us into a inquiry movie . For my skill I chose double dutch and the people in my group were Temanahi , and Tiare .  After all of our weeks of practise we ended up failing and not even learning how to do it so we ended up changed it too just upgrading our skipping skills.

The car


For our room 3 literacy reading , were reading about a story called “The Car” . The story is about a guy who was saving up money to get a car because his girlfriend was badgering him for ages so he got a car and he took her for a ride in it and then they went to  a restaurant and then they saw the girlfriends ex , and then it turned out the girlfriend was working with the ex and they took off with the car . Soon enough they both got karma , the ex died but the girlfriend was in the hospital for intensive care.

Speech rubric


This week for literacy we did speeches . My speech was about how I believe that there are only 2 genders . During the speech I had many emotions and I felt uncomfortable and unsure about how I would present myself to the audience . I was really passionate about this speech topic , because many people globally usually fight or argue on topics like these which inspired me too say my side of the argument . Volume Practice

Kia ora , for term 3 , week 6 . We have been learning all about versatile volume , during this task I learnt that volume is the amount of space inside a solid figure . So this means that if there were 6 cubes then the volume of that would be 6 cubic units . The thing I found the most challenging about this task was figuring out how to do the more formula practice because I had to times the inches of the cubical shape 3 times to gather my answer .

Kia ora , for this weeks maths slides we are learning how to convert currency , and measure distance and time . For this we were learning about researching and planning a trip of 4 to watch the Paris 2024 Olympics . For this task we had a budget of 30k and we have to figure out a venue , accommodation , food prices , and flight ticket prices . Within this task we also have to convert our NZ dollars into euros . My trip organisers in this task was Me , Diamond , and Tiare . I really enjoyed doing this task because I learnt some new and interesting facts about Paris , France .


For this task during reading , we have to create a college that sends the audience a message about the current story that we are reading . The message in this collage is telling us about how people can be stressed out sometimes from working too hard and it causes others to feel left out when they haven’t been told about anything .

Perimeter and Area .


For maths this week we are learning about Perimeters and Areas . For this slide we are learning how to find the area and perimeter of different shapes by multiplying the height and width . These were just information slides and they were teaching us how to work it out . I found this easy and there was no challenges for this task .

Areas and perimeters .


For Maths , We are learning too : Measure the area of squares and rectangles . During this task we were learning how to do this by multiplying the area / width together to gain the answers by using cm squares . The most challenging thing  about these slides was learning how to half the length of the shape and multiply it to get our answers . But the other shapes that I have to multiply were really easy and I enjoyed it .
